Joan of Arc Academy Alumnae
Welcome Joan of Arc alumnae and families! We are celebrating our 60th Anniversary this year! Please
JOA would like to extend a huge congratulations to our alumnus Jenna Lalonde who made Team Canada's senior national team in Jan 2022 at age 15!
Jenna travelled to France and Belgium in Nov 2021 and will compete in Venice, Italy April 2022 before competing at the Canadian Championship in Vancouver May 26-31, 2022.
Jenna now attends Nepean HS and also Blythe Academy. During her years at JOA, Jenna participated in our Balance Program allowing her to succeed academically and in her chosen sport. We are so glad that we could support Jenna in this small way as she navigated both her dedication to learning in school and training in the gym.

Eve Ostafichuk, a former JOA student visited our school on Friday to place her beautiful work in our school stairwell. This painting was made in memory of her older sister Mara who passed away in January last year.
Mara and Eve both attended JOA from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 graduating in 2009 and 2011 respectively. We are so grateful to have this tribute to Mara's memory in our school.

Hello JOA Alumnae,
As some of you may know, Mrs. Bartlett is retiring after 18 years at JOA! Her impact on the school and its students has been immeasurable.
As she moves onto this new phase, I wanted to put together a card to her from her former students. If you would like to participate, please comment your message on this post and it will be added to the card!
Enjoy a great summer ~

Paying Tribute to Mara at Joan of Arc Academy, organized by Ambika Aggarwal Hello all, We are raising money to honour Mara Ostafichuk, a JOA alumn… Ambika Aggarwal needs your support for Paying Tribute to Mara at Joan of Arc Academy

Dear JOA community,
As you may have heard, on January 13th, we lost Mara Ostafichuk. Her life was cut far too short by an unrelenting and cruel disease which she bore with grace and dignity far beyond her years.
Joan of Arc Academy wants to pay tribute to Mara's memory. In a school like ours, no student's memory is forgotten.
Mara's sister, Eve, is creating a painting that will go up in our stairwell. We are raising money to cover the costs of this project. All additional donations will be used to create the "Mara Ostafichuk Award". This award will be given to a student in the graduating class who has contributed to the well-being of her community, as Mara did all her life.
If you have the opportunity, we would greatly appreciate any donation:

Our 2nd feature on "We Guessed It!" is Kameela Alibhai. Kameela was a student at JOA from 2002 to 2012. When she gradauted in Grade 8 her classes voted her most likely to be a family doctor.
Kameela is now in her 2nd year of Med School at Ottawa U! Unfortunately the class of 2012 wasn't 100% correct... rather than a family doctor, Kameela is an aspring surgeon!
