Today, Community Living Renfrew Workers held the line and disrupted scab workers from leaving the Days Inn Renfrew where the employer has been housing them. We've been here since 6am and will continue to hold the line firm. Now is the time for the employer to come back to the table in a meaningful way! OPSEU Local 472

The latest issue of Local Lines is out now.

Inside you'll find reflections on the ongoing impacts of cuts and restructuring, member voices, and the continued push for transparency, accountability, and reinvestment in public education.

Thank you to everyone who continues to speak up, show up, and support one another through difficult changes across our college system.

One of our own is fighting for her daughter's life — and she needs our support.

Rana Amache, professor in the School of Advanced Technology at Algonquin College, and her husband Joseph are racing against time to get their 4-year-old daughter Lucia access to a gene therapy that could stop — and even reverse — the effects of Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that has already stolen her ability to speak and use her hands.

Lucia was on track for a promising Canadian clinical trial, but was abruptly excluded due to an age restriction change. Now her family is raising funds to pursue every possible avenue — including international clinical access and legal advocacy — before the window closes.

Every share and every dollar matters. Link in bio to donate: gofundme.com/f/help-lucia-race-against-time

A town hall is supposed to be a space for discussion, questions, and honest dialogue.

Instead, the President’s Town Hall increasingly feels like a one-sided information dump filled with platitudes, strategic ambiguity, and business-speak about “mitigation,” “transformation,” and “sustainability” while faculty, staff, and students are left searching for clear answers.

Questions that are raised are often vetted, redirected, or met with carefully polished messaging rather than meaningful clarity.

Do you have specific questions you would like raised at the President's Town Hall on June 4th? Concerns you feel have not been answered or even asked in the past? Send us an email and we will add them to our list.
