Let’s talk government funding child care. Point to talk about:
1. Choosing a daycare based solely on the fact that it offers funding is taking away parents ability to find someone they love for their child. Not saying all don’t love their funded provider. But some are leaving providers they have used for years just to get funding someplace else.
2. For private home daycare providers this is providing it difficult to keep clients (even ones that love them) because when a spot opens they like many would like the financial beak. Can you blame them life is so expensive.
3. Home daycares are now having funding revoked. This is a thing. Is this the beginning of the end for home daycares being funded? Is this the first of many? Are the 300 families effected left with this financial increase going to leave their beloved daycare to find a funded spot? Is the provider that did become registered now have to pay for the government taking back their funding by loosing families?
4. There has to be a better way. Let parents submit their daycare expense and get the refund based on salary. Letting those that struggle get more funding.
5. This is so stressful for everyone. And I believe everyone should be safe. Parents and caregivers.
