Every move matters. The OCSB's Intermediate Chess Tournament brought together Grade 7 and 8 players from 10 schools for a day of strategy, focus, and fierce, if quiet, competition. Behind the scenes, one teacher has been keeping this tradition alive since 2013, and the results speak for themselves. βοΈ

Slime? Check. Robots? Check. A drone, a 3D printer, and a robotic head named Nico? Absolutely check. St. Gregory threw open its doors for its very first STEM Night, and over 200 students and families showed up ready to explore. Sixteen stations. One incredible evening that's already been declared an annual tradition. π¬π€β¨

On the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests, we lift our prayers for priests everywhere, including retired priests like Father Penney, whose faithful service continues to inspire our community. May God strengthen all priests in their vocation, guide their ministry, and help them be living bridges, leading others closer to Christ with wisdom and compassion.

π The audience saw a hilarious comedy. What they may not have seen was everything happening behind the scenes.
Through lunch-hour rehearsals, pizza dinners on the stage floor, missed cues, costume changes, dance practices, and countless hours of teamwork, Holy Trinity School's Grade 7 and 8 students created something much bigger than a school play.
The Rehearsal helped students build confidence, resilience, friendships, and a true sense of belonging. Along the way, they learned that every role matters and that success happens when people support one another.
Congratulations to our talented students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and community partners who helped bring this incredible production to life.

π π»On May 20, 2026, 23 students from St. George School visited the University of Ottawa's IBM Cyber Range for a hands-on cybersecurity workshop.
The group included Grade 6 students who had already competed in this year's CyberPatriot competition, along with Grade 5 students getting an early start on next year's learning.
Inside the Cyber Range, students investigated a simulated cyber attack involving stolen student work. They used commands, explored how computers store files, traced evidence, and identified the IP address used to submit the stolen work.
The visit was a strong example of Deep Learning at OCSB. Students applied what they had learned, asked questions, tested ideas, and worked through a real-feeling problem with support from teacher and coach Calum MacKenzie and Learning Technologies team members Jennifer Stoqua and Brett Walker.
It was also a proud moment, showing students how technology, curiosity, perseverance, and careful thinking can open doors to future learning and career pathways.
