Christmas is approaching and we are once again offering our Fibre Gifts Workshop, which was a great success last year. This year we are opening it up to adults as well as children. It is suitable for children age 8 and up; younger children will enjoy the felting projects with help from a parent. We are holding it in the main hall of the Ottawa Waldorf School so we will have more space.

Please feel free to forward the poster to friends, relatives, classmates, etc. We look forward to seeing you on November 30.

Kindergarten is a place where children acquire the essential foundations for later life.

Great River School Kindergarten is a home away from home where every child is loved, nurtured and develops his own innate strengths. In an esthetically and calming class room with plenty of natural light, your child will work and play in imitation of the teachers conscious and gentle actions and words.

There will be seasonal songs and poems with a variety of movements to expand each child’s language, math and social skills. These skills are equally supported by cooking, baking, wool work, wood work and other meaningful hands on activities.

Listening to stories told in a variety of imaginative ways will allow the children to live in an ever expanding imagination, the ground work for a strong brain and nervous system. As the school is nestled in a lush garden next to a park, the teacher will garden with the children and go on short nature exploration walks. For more information on this gentle approach to education of the young child, please
