This year's Grandfriends Day was a resounding success! Nearly 150 guests (Grandfriends and their Grandkids) attended, and were treated to a delicious lunch and beautiful worship music from our Worship Team and our Choir.
A huge thank you to the parent volunteers who worked hard with set up, service, and clean up — your helped was much appreciated!
Special thanks goes out to parent Natalia Pacheco for supplying the lovely table arrangements and the gorgeous floral photo booth!

Things you won't see in a public school ... students (and staff) gathering in the foyer to worship through the singing of Christmas carols. Praise God!
May all in our community cherish this season as we ponder the miracle of Christmas and the greatest gift of all — the Light of the World — our Saviour, our LORD Jesus Christ.
A very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all!!

At this morning's Chapel, RCHS welcomed Janielle Lim, from Mission Aviation Fellowship of Canada (MAF Canada). Ms. Lim shared about MAF's mission and purpose, and most importantly how students can begin thinking about a career in this field even now. Ms. Lim shared that now is the time to be preparing our hearts and minds for this kind of work, if this is where the Lord is leading them.
There was a question/answer period after her presentation, and several questions were posed by students and staff — the interest and excitement about this organization was obvious!
Please pray for this excellent ministry which has been operating since WW2, serving those in isolated areas and helping in disaster relief, medical aid, pastoral care, and many other areas — but, most importantly, sharing the love of Jesus. This past Wednesday, RCHS hosted 94 8th-graders from schools all over the Ottawa region. Our guests participated in five classes: phys. ed., science, tech, music, and visual arts. They experienced hands-on experiments, art techniques, percussion using mere buckets, and more — and by all accounts it was a lot of fun!
Our guests were also treated to a tasty pizza lunch, and a fun trivia game with prizes. The students left with their RCHS Swag Bags, and thoughts filled with how fun high school can be.
Thank you to our teachers who worked hard to make Grade 8 Day a fun and memorable experience for prospective students.
And a HUGE thank you to all of our excellent RCHS student volunteers — they were mature and diligent servants who helped to make this event a great success — we could not have done this without them.👊🎉

🌺This morning, Redeemer students participated in a Remembrance Day Assembly. Students and staff watched a live feed of the Remembrance Day Ceremony on Parliament Hill. Following the ceremony, two students read poetry written by senior RCHS students: The Maple Men, by Austin W. and Remember Them, by Hannah V. The RCHS Choir also sang two beautiful pieces. It was solemn, but it was a privilege to honour those who have fought for, and those who continue to defend, our nation.🌺
