English speakers use a lot of idioms.
For example;
If you are in a bad mood, you might be asked "Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed?"π
Or of you are in a good mood, one might say that you are "On top of the world!"π
Eh? βehβ is an interjection that is unique to Canadian English and is used a lot to express emotion or sentiment. βehβ can have different meanings, eh?
In Canada, use βehβ:
1) to check if the other person understands and is listening βIβm going to the hairdresser first, eh, then I'll meet you at the restaurant at 5 o'clock.β
2) to check if the other person is interested βMy trip to Nova Scotia was amazing and we saw some really cool beaches, eh.β
3) to check if the other person agrees βCanada is a really nice country, eh.β
4) to add importance β They're calling for freezing rain later today, eh.β
5) to make a combined statement and question βYou are good at playing hockey, eh?β
