Performing Colonial Toxicity Exhibition | CR|PT|C The exhibition PERFORMING COLONIAL TOXICITY​ (October 22-November 21, 2025) is taking place in the Lightroom Gallery, architecture building at Carleton University as part of the Agora III International Symposium Mediating Matter(s): Architecture and Bodily Affects.

Everyone is welcome to attend MEDIATING MATTER(S): The Agora III International Symposium, taking place Thursday, Oct. 23, to Friday, Oct. 24, at the Architecture Building.

The organizers are Professor Federica Goffi, Associate Professor Menna Agha, and ASAU PhD students Ahmed Elsherif and Ushma Thakrar .

MEDIATING MATTER(S) will explore the relationships between matter and bodies within architectural practice and discourse, challenging conventional views.

The event brings together 17 contributors from 16 countries: Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

It also includes an exhibition, Performing Colonial Toxicity, by Samia Henni in the Lightroom Gallery.

Dr. Samia Henni, McGill University, Dr. María González Pendás, Cornell University, and Dr. Aya Nassar, Durham University, will deliver keynote lectures.

The international symposium is part of the CR|PT|C Agora Symposia & Exhibit series at the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism.

We're thrilled to announce the publication of (Un)Common Precedents in Architectural Design, edited by Federica Goffi, Isabel Potworowski, Kristin Washco.

The edited volume calls for an attentive examination of the uncommon that inspires creativity, prompting a re-examination of both common and marginalised precedents.
