Gears of Glebe is a robotics team at Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa.

We participate in international competitions such as FIRST, SKILLS, and VEX, taking part in the 2011 World Championships in Orlando, Florida for VEX.

We've prototyped our ball grabber which works suprisingly well, and our frame is being put together in Solidworks before hopefully starting its assembly tomorrow. Our idea using the archimedes screw has been unfortunately tossed aside, but at least we'll still have fun launching the balls in the gym! Dodgeball, anyone?

GLebe Robotics - Home Glebe Robotics (TEAM 1053) is a group of high school students with a passion for engineering, problem solivng and robotics. The members of our team design, build, program robots for international competitions.

Team 1053 Engineering Notebook 01/08/2012

This is the notebook that team 1053 entered to the 2011 VEX Gateway competition. A 36 page, 25,000 word notebook written up in a matter of hours. Not bad, eh?

And the game is released! Looks interesting this year, especially with our 22 motor limit (and 22 jaguars to catch fire!), and the use of the Kinect. The password to get into the game manual is "!HotShots!KnowBalance!". Start cracking!

Less than 24 hours until the kickoff! Ontop of downloading Simbotics' app, this one created by FIRST should be on your phone by Monday too. It's the manual, along with team updates and the video all in one. This will make navigating the 60-80 page manual much easier, lighter, and cheaper since it's free.
