Sticker Matching Game | Age: 2+
In this week’s craft video, we show how you make your very own matching game right at home. This activity is simple to make and can be played again and again.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Construction paper (any colour you like)
- Stickers (make sure you have doubles of all the stickers you would like to use)
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut your construction paper into two strips and then cut those strips into squares. We recommend cutting out 8-10 squares for this activity.
2. Place a sticker on each square. Alternatively, you can also draw your own pictures on the squares if you don’t want to use stickers.
3. Turn all your matching squares over and mix them up.
4. Show your child how to play the game. Turn over one square and then another. If the stickers don’t match, place them both face down again. Encourage your child to find a match, keep going until all of your squares are gone!
For today's craft, we tried out painting with leaves! This activity is super simple and requires very few supplies. All you need are some leaves, colourful markers and paper!
Together with your child, take a walk outside and let them gather up a few leaves that they would like to use for painting. Then encourage them to colour on the back of a leaf with as many colours as they would like. Demonstrate how to turn the leaf over onto the paper and press down to transfer the colours from the leaf.
For fun, try using leaves of different shapes and sizes to change up the look of your painting!
Our Friday craft this week is Dinosaur Sensory Bin! Sensory play encourages the development of children's fine motor skills, problem-solving and ignites their creativity! For fun, try asking your child to explain the actions they are doing as they play. Work on making a sensory bin at home with your child this week, what would you put into your sensory bin?
Our craft this week is Magnet Number Tracing!
This activity is perfect for children who love cars! Children can use a cutout of a car or toy car to trace the numbers decorated like roads and learn how to write their numbers as they drive around.
