Spring is off to a wonderful start in the studio! Students sang their hearts out in GNAG’s production of Something Rotten, making us all giggle our heads off.

Bravery and success came through in Senior Voice and Musical Theatre at Kiwanis, ending with a couple of Trophies in Musical Theatre and lots of happy singers!

And of course lots of shenanigans were had with the Ottawa Acting Studio in the Glebe- the best way to end any work week.

Through it all, we are building community, creativity, confidence, and connection as we aim for the compassion and calm of singing from our true selves.

Now onto more Kiwanis, shows, and a boatload of JOY!

Happy World Voice Day!!!

We are in the middle of Musical Theatre at the Kiwanis Music Festival, so here is a video of three of our singers and their lovely trio from Wind in the Willows.

I share this because I was so amazed by these young singers and how they brought so much joy and creative curiosity to exploring such a unique and challenging piece.

Singing is a place where we aim to find self expression, joy, artistry, and a deep sense of community as we explore the nooks and crannies of our creative spirit.

May we all find a space that helps us feel safe and supported on this beautiful vocal journey as we explore our whole selves through the beautiful gift of song.

This is my wish for World Voice Day 2026.

Are you curious about auditioning for musical theatre? Come join me Friday Afternoons starting March 27th At the Ottawa Acting Studio!

Class this term will focus on how to pick audition repertoire, the vocal and performance preparation of the pieces, as well as practicing the process of an audition.

As always, we will also have some fun with a group number or two to keep those musical theatre chops fresh and send you into Friday evening with a zing in your step!

You will find all of our acting classes using the menu on the left side below.  Classes at our KANATA STUDIO and our downtown GLEBE STUDIO are clearly marked.

A wonderful way to spend a chilly February weekend! NATS-NCR festival was another hit this year with 9 singers from the studio entering 12 categories.

So many firsts this year, from some being new to festival participation to others trying out doing multiple styles in one day. Congratulations to everyone and thank you to my wonderful colleagues for a great festival!

Another warm and cozy winter studio recital is a wrap!

Great signing and enthusiastic support rippled through the adorable St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church yesterday. Thank you to the amazing Joanne Moorcroft for her piano skills, as always :)

This year we collected donations for the Richmond Food Bank! We filled a big box with food and raised $150!!!! :)

This 7-week course is designed to foster and develop the singer actor as they develop their skills in musical theatre singing. Students will work on ensemble pieces and for those who wish, solo songs. The class will help to develop skills of singing in a group with harmonies, solo vocal development, acting through song, as well as the ins and outs of how to prepare for a vocal audition. At the end of the course, students mayperform solos for their classmates and an ensemble piece in the studio showcase for an invited audience. The class is appropriate for both beginning and developing singers.

What a fantastic Trophy concert for Musical Theatre with the Ottawa Kiwanis Music Festival. Studio member Clara Chi popped over to the gala to support her friends and cheer for everyone, only to be surprised with the Orpheus Musical Theatre Society Trophy for Most Promising in Musical Theatre. :) Congrats Clara and everyone who worked so hard! You took us on a journey with your singing and left us all feeling the magic.
