On November 1st , we will officially be launching the virtual Academy focused on giving Hairstylists and caregivers the tools they need to care for the plethora of Curly hair types that exist on this beautiful Planet Earth.

I truly believe that everyone should be able to be taken care of with the simplest of wash and go’s at very least. There are stories that come with our clients and the Stylists and I want to dig into those more with you.

Why haven’t they been in a salon for 10 years ? Why don’t they trust Stylists who don’t appear to have a similar hair type or skin tone. Why does the DIY methods reign so high in the curly hair community ? Why are you so nervous to work with a hair type this is unlike yours ?

Thank you for making my first class back since giving birth so fulfilling ! Shout out to the amazing team at . They soaked in each moment.

We had the kindest models that were so open and willing to help our students learn more about their curl types and their journeys that lead them to us .

It’s important to fill the gap of curly hair education that is missing in a Eurocentric hair curriculum. Why teach students how to relax someone’s curl before they learn what it takes to embrace them?

The virtual academy will be launching in the next few weeks! In person education has begun and we’re so grateful to help you elevate your skills🙏🏾💕

It’s very common for the length in the middle of the head to be the shortest and highest shrinking area.
This is why we do not build our guide from the top down.
We’ve given the hair room to grow into it’s new shape by building from the bottom up.

The words “diversity” and “inclusion” may be more widely said in the last year, but what does that truly mean to you? Does that include you “diversifying” your skills so that you can “include” more types of clients than you have in the past ?

It’s important what we do moving forward. In this series I am working with short kinky coils, long silky curls and mid length kinky curls to ensure you all see what diversity with inclusion means to us at C.U.T.A.

Welcome to C.U.T.A !
My name is Paula and I’m uber invested in helping people learn all they need to know to fall deeper in love with curly, kinky, coily and wavy hair types.

I officially launched The Academy in 2020, but have been teaching intentionally for about 5 years.

2021 marks year 11 of business at and about 16 years in a salon setting. I absolutely love what I do and so does the stylist who works with me, .

She assist me during our live classes and is just as passionate as I when it comes to exuding self-love through self-care.
