New mirrors for our playroom

Mirrors help babies and toddlers realize the reflection they see is their own, a critical milestone typically reached between 18 and 24 months.

Visual Tracking: Watching their own movements and faces in the mirror strengthens a baby’s eye tracking, focus, and hand-eye coordination.

Motor Skill Development: Reflections encourage physical play. Infants are motivated to reach out, practice clapping, and lift their heads during tummy time.

Speech & Language: By watching their own mouths move, children understand how to form words and sounds while building vocabulary as you name facial features.

Emotional & Social Growth: Kids use mirrors to practice and recognize facial expressions (e.g., smiling, frowning), which helps them develop empathy and understand emotional cues.

Autumn 🍂 has arrived even though it doesn’t feel like it.

We have observed some of the trees changing colour.

We made a tree and painted some leaves using paper towel rolls.
