Most importantly, thank you to all attendees for your engagement, thoughtful questions, and commitment to advancing this work. Conversations like these are essential as we continue to deepen our understanding and identify the gaps that remain.

In a recent interview with Canadian Affairs, CHBE Director Dr. Barbara Perry highlighted an important and often overlooked dynamic in today’s online landscape.
She pointed to the rise of “trad wife” content—highly curated posts centred on femininity, motherhood, and traditional gender roles—as an example of how extremist-adjacent ideas can be subtly repackaged into visually appealing, aesthetic formats.
Subtle signs are markers of deeper content worries.

CHBE Statement on the Bondi Beach attack
Our centre unequivocally condemns the recent horrific attack at the Jewish festival in Bondi Beach. Antisemitic attacks have been rising internationally, underscoring the urgent need to do more to protect Jewish communities from continued targeting and violence. During this difficult time, we extend our deepest sympathies and wishes for healing to the victims, their families, and all those affected.

We would like to thank all of our participants that attended our recent event at the Centre. We welcomed international attendees that provided their expertise on forging new pathways in P/CVE work programmatically, and in specific areas within prevention programs.
The intention was to build towards a more dynamic, standardized and ethical programming in P/CVE teams that employ mentors within their multi disciplinary teams.
A special thank you to Gordon Clubb and Nicolò Scremin for helping organize this event.
We would also like to thank the OPV Evolve Program & Life After Hate as well policymakers at Public Safety Canada for their attendance as well. This will continue to be a multi sectoral effort to build on the great progress we have achieved to date in the P/CVE space to date.
