Daniel Tammet is a linguistic and mathematical savant who speaks 11 languages and memorized over 22,000 digits of pi. He amazed the world by mastering Icelandic in just five days, enough to give TV interviews. Despite his extraordinary mind, Tammet struggles with everyday tasks such as recognizing faces, driving, and telling left from right.

Well, well, well…I began my journey with Ontario Tech University after being accepted into a graduate diploma program in Education and Digital Technology. I loved being back at uni so much I applied for transfer and was accepted into the M.Ed. program. Another term and another change; I have now transferred to an M.A. in Education and will be starting a Research Proposal Seminar next week!

In celebration of finishing the first badge as Individual Practitioner for Habits of Mind, Bena Kallick (who co-authored a number of books on the HoM with Art Costa), was at the meeting to welcome us along with our facilitator Craig Gastauer.

Well, well, well. After a year of talking about it, I have finally begun to work on certification as an Individual Practitioner with the Institute for the Habits of Mind. I am very excited to begin this journey and will keep you posted with information I have gleaned.

For those who don’t have the Internet at home, the Toronto Public Library has a wifi hotspot lending program. They can be signed out for six months at a time. November 1 is the next availability - first come, first served. Brilliant!
