As a 2016 graduate of the Advanced Law Clerk program at Durham College (DC), Jordan Richardson decided to pursue further education. When she took the next step, she was able to use her previous credits earned at DC and apply them to the Educational Studies at OntarioTech University.
She reached out to the DC Transfer Services team to discuss her options and understand how her prior education could support further studies. She learned that she could use her credits to exempt her from two years of the four-year program, expediting her learning journey.
She notes: "I had a great experience. It was very easy to follow, my questions were answered quickly, and I found it to be a positive, smooth experience."

As a student with prior relevant education, Maggie Finlayson transferred to Durham College's (DC) Human Resources program. She used her university credits to meet her GNED requirements, enabling her to continue her education at DC.
Not having those extra courses on her schedule gave her more breathing room, helped her stay focused on her core courses, and allowed her to work more hours to support her education.
Maggie now works as a Transfer Services Officer on our team and helps students get recognized for their prior learning. She highly recommends that other students look into credit transfer options if they think they might be eligible!
