To apply, complete the application form and submit a short essay of 500 words or less.

Deadline to apply: October 30, 2026.

The selected recipient will also be invited to join us for a lovely meal at our Annual General Meeting on December 1 for a great meal and to be presented with the bursary.

Application, instructions and the scoring rubric are available here: www.cvala.ca/bursaries

If you have any questions, speak with your CAEC teacher.

This bursary supports adult learners who have completed CVALA’s CAEC program and are continuing their education through a post-secondary program. The award recognizes the dedication and perseverance often required for adult learners returning to school.

We had a potluck in our Intro CAEC/WES class at NBCC this week. Learners shared Syrian dishes with their classmates and teachers.

Class takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but we always make time to connect, learn from one another, and enjoy moments like this together. ❤️

February is Black History Month.

As an adult education non-profit, we see every day how access to learning can open doors. Black History Month is a reminder of the importance of inclusive, welcoming learning spaces where everyone’s experiences and histories are respected and valued.

We recognize and celebrate the history, achievements, and ongoing contributions of Black Canadians in our communities and across the country, today and every day.
