Between workshops, on the Mediterranean coast of France, teaching some private lessons, working on the new book. This is feeling like a vacation.

Update/ mis à jour

3 days for a trip that was expected to be 10 hours.
7 boarding passes.
6 embarkations.
5 flights .
38 hours spent in airports.
3 hours in a passport office.
$ 80 spent on airport food.
$400 dollars spent on taxis.

I had it easy compared to others.
I met some very cool people who all seemed to be handling their situations reasonably well.
There was a tennis player who would miss her mixed doubles match, fellow martial artists travelling with small children, a group of young particle physicists from CERN, and a renowned musician who just happens to be good friends with a friend/student of mine.

After a few days of rest and tuishou with friends in Toulouse, I am on my way to CREM at Monestiés for 5 days of tuishou in a forest retreat.

Still not much sleep, but we are making progress. That is the Mediterranean Sea at Barcelona. I can almost see Toulouse from here, but my route takes me to Munich first, and then almost as far back to my destination. Well, now I can say that I have been to Spain. It seems nice.

Looking forward to teaching in Europe this summer. It is off to an interesting start. This is the scene this morning at Montreal airport, after tens of thousands of people faced delays and cancellations due to weather. I missed my connection to Toulouse after a technical error in Toronto. I got a voucher for a hotel in Montreal Friday night. On Saturday I was booked on an 18:35 flight to London and sat in the terminal watching the thunderstorm that flooded parts of the city. We finally boarded at 23:30. However, by then the flight crew had timed out and with all the other delays there were non more backup pilots to fly the plane.
So , we disembarked, went back through customs, got our luggage and spent the night in the terminal as all hotels were full, and we would not be reimbursed for weather related delays.
I’m currently booked for 18:35 to Barcelona to Munich to Toulouse . If I experience no more delays, I’ll be in Toulouse on Monday night.
Most people are handling it fairly well.
