We are gearing up for summer! Our summer camp staff had the privilege of being invited to participate in the Simcoe County Recreation association summer camp training on Saturday, May 30.

A huge thank you to the City of Orillia for the invitation. We are so excited about the things that we learned and can't wait to have a blast with your kiddos this summer! ☀️

A huge thank you to for going above and beyond by donating each staff member at the West Campus their own individual lunch today. The meals were delicious and a great way to end the work week!

At West Ridge Early Education Centre (WREEC), we recognize and celebrate Black History Month (BHM). We honour Canadian Black History through our activities, the books we read and our commitment to inclusion.

This year's theme for Black History Month in Canada is "30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations". This theme celebrates three decades by acknowledging the contributions of past "Nation Builders" while looking forward to future "Visionaries", emphasizing continuity, resilience and progress. It aims to foster intergeneration dialogue, strenghten community pride and align with broader goals fo equity and includion.

Check out the poster created by Miss Shaniel from the Jr Toddler Room (West Campus), which showcases interesting facts about Black brilliance across generations in Canada and Quotes from notable Black Canadian figures. This can be found beside the Infant Room, as well as here. You can also explore the different activities our classrooms have done to honour Black History Month.

Our first ever Spring Market is less than a month away! Come join us Saturday March 14th, between 9:00am-1:00pm for our Spring Market! See a variety of different crafts, food, gifts, and more! We also have raffle prizes available, and all money made from the raffle prizes goes towards our centre!
