Today, our students had the opportunity to visit the Guelph Fire Department and see firsthand the facilities, apparatus, and environment of a modern fire station.

Experiences like these help bring training to life and give students a closer look at the profession they are preparing to enter.

We appreciate the opportunity to tour the station and expose our students to another fire service organization in Ontario.

We were pleased to welcome Laura Ellis, Co-Director of Training at Camp Molly and an Ontario Fire Academy alumna, back to campus.

Laura toured the facility, observed our programs in action, and spent time discussing the fire service and opportunities available to aspiring firefighters. It was also great to see her reconnect with students and witness firsthand how OFA continues to evolve.

Camp Molly has inspired many young women to explore careers in the fire service, and we appreciate the important role the program continues to play in our industry.

We were excited to welcome Sean Walter from 3M Scott Fire & Safety to the Ontario Fire Academy for a hands-on SCBA demonstration. πŸš’

Sean walked our students through the latest SCBA packs, equipment features, and innovations currently being used in the fire service industry. It was a great opportunity for students to see firsthand how technology and equipment continue to evolve on the fireground.

The demonstration was highly engaging, and our students loved getting the chance to explore equipment beyond the classroom environment.

Thank you, Sean, for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience with our students.

πŸš’ What an incredible day connecting with our community! OFA had the honour of joining Orangeville Fire Services for their door-to-door smoke & carbon monoxide alarm campaign in Mono, and it was a powerful reminder of just how much community education saves lives. Working alarms give families the critical early warning they need to get out safely. 🏠❀️

A huge thank you to the entire Orangeville Fire Services team for welcoming us and for the life-saving work they do every single day. A special thank you to Fire Chief John Snider for his leadership and commitment to keeping our community safe. πŸ™Œ
