Mrs. Burk's Grade 7 class was awarded Janitor Dave's "Golden Garbage Can" Award for the month of September, and earned ice cream sandwiches!

Janitor Dave began the competition at the beginning of the school year to help promote personal responsibility (picking up after oneself) and teamwork to ensure we learn in an organized and clean environment.

Mrs. Burk's class was given this award due to all students collectively tidying up their personal work spaces and putting their books and materials away at the end of the day.

The prize is back up for grabs for this month!!
Great Work 7.3!

As part of their Language Arts Personal Narrative Response project, students in Mr. Hansen's class learned about the use of flashback in story telling and were asked to bring in an object that was very important to them and connected them to their past.

By linking their writing to their personal stories, students learn that creative writing comes from within.

While the objects are usually small and can fit in a backpack or pocket, students Ty B. and James J. brought something a little bigger, although no less important to them, their dirt bikes. Both spoke passionately about why dirt biking is a special part of their lives and their friendship.

🧑 Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters 🧑

Today, our school wears orange to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, remember the survivors, and recognize the lasting impact of the residential school system.

Wearing orange is a simple way to show that Every Child Matters and to support our ongoing journey toward truth, understanding, respect, and reconciliation.

🧑 We remember. We learn. We honour. We move forward together.🧑

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Running for a Great Cause! ❀️

On Friday, our middle school community came together to support the Terry Fox Run! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Terry Fox’s courage, determination, and dream to find a cure for cancer continue to inspire Canadians of all ages. Our students and staff were proud to honour his legacy by getting active, giving back, and helping to make a difference.

It was wonderful to see our students cheering each other on, showing school spirit, and coming together for such an important cause. Every step, every donation, and every act of support helps keep Terry’s dream alive.

Together, we can make a difference! ❀️
β€œI say TERRY, you say FOX!”
