A huge congratulations to my Zumbini Graduates!!! I Graduated around 50 Zumbinis this past session! What a joy it truly was to be surrounded by that many littles and their families over the past six weeks.
I was reflecting on my journey as a Zumbini Instructor and June 27, 2026, will officially mark 5 years as an Instructor. What a journey it has been!
When I first started out I ran outdoor classes and the families and I endured all seasons of weather. I had my small pocket of consistent families and with their support, commitment and belief in me, my classes began to expand and grow.
Now 5 years later, I can confidently say I have served over 100's of little Zumbinis. Some I have spent a single session with and some I have shared multiple sessions with.
I have formed rapport, friendships and have seen families grow, develop and expand. I have been there through many milestones, ups and downs, career changes and life transitions. I have met so many guardians and caregivers, aunties, grandparents and family friends. While I have had the privilege of getting a glimpse into the lives of my participants, they also got in a glimpse of mine. These Zumbinis and their families have helped me through so many moments of turbulence in my life - full body poison ivy, car troubles, strained voice/laryngitis, parenting heaviness (just to name a few), but they have also been there to cheer me on through all my highs/successes in life too. We truly became such a family and created bonds that will continue beyond class.
I also wanted to give a huge shout out to Steppin' Up Dance Company Steppin' Up Dance Company for being my Zumbini home for the past few years. It has been the perfect space and has been such a staple for me in our local community. I also love that Steppin' Up is a bridge and has been a next step for Zumbinis who have aged out of Zumbini and have continued with their dance and performance journey. Thank you Steppin' Up for supporting me along my Zumbini pathway.
A 'thank you' is truly not enough to really capture what these past 5 years has meant to me. All I can say is the memories will forever foster me on my pathway.
See you in the Fall - Lots of love,
Adios 💜
