On Tuesday, August 11th, we will be having a special visit from a helicopter and pilot from the Canadian Armed Forces for the children of the centre as part of the Daycare's Community Connections program. For the safety of all, this activity is NOT open to the public.

Hello Parents and Community Members,

As summer approaches I wanted to share an idea we had for the summer programming. We are hoping to explore the people, vehicles and services that help our community thrive!

Once a week (hoping to usually be on a Thursday around 10 for mornings or 3 for the afternoons) we will welcome family and community members to visit with the children and share a little about their work. If your job involves a vehicle, truck, tractor, van, or other equipment, we would love for you to bring it along for the children to see and explore.

Our infants, and preschoolers are naturally curious about the world around the. These visits provide opportunity for children to see real vehicles up close, meet community helpers and family members of our centre, learn about different jobs and roles in our community and build connections between home, childcare, and the community.

You do not need to make a presentation - simply spend a few minutes talking with the children about what you do and how your vehicle helps you in your work.

If you would like to participate simply let me know and I will work with you to confirm a date over the summer months and you can come share your work with our curious learners!

Thank you Community Foundation for your Generosity! This investment is not just in toys but in everyday moments that help children feel happy, supported and inspired to learn and grow.

CFPD Board Chair, Cathie McFarlane, and Executive Director, Lorna Knight, were pleased to present a cheque to Oakville Early Learning Centre to put toward purchasing daycare equipment—including storage systems and sports, music, and sensory equipment. The new equipment will allow the daycare to increase their range of programming for the children and support their growth and development.

A thank you to the community foundation of portage and district for last years grant 2025. They funded shovels, wagons, the outdoor cone structure, flowers and seeds, outdoor carpet etc.
