Through our student-led Relay for Life event, we raised over $100,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society, surpassing our fundraising goal!
From walking laps with friends and enjoying games, music, and entertainment, to honouring survivors and remembering loved ones, our community came together with purpose, heart, and hope.
We are incredibly proud of the students, staff, families, and community members who contributed generously. A special thank you to Mr. Shin and Ms. Hoiting for their leadership and support of our student organizers.
King’s, you’ve shown once again that when we work together, we can make a difference far greater than any one of us could make alone.

Last week, we wrapped up Spirit Week with a “Soak a Staff Member” event, with all proceeds going to Relay for Life in support of cancer research. Our lunch was full of excitement, featuring the soak-a-staff activity, an ice cream truck, a lemonade stand, and plenty of space for students to relax, chat, and connect with one another.
A big thank you to all the staff and students who worked so hard to organize the many fun events and activities throughout the week for our school community. Your time, energy, and school spirit helped make Spirit Week such a success!

We were honoured to welcome Ian Jones from the University of Toronto to our Green Industries class for a practical experience in leading-edge research.
Our students had the unique opportunity to work alongside him to set up six moth larvae stations near our school pond—part of an innovative biological control program to help manage Phragmites, one of Canada's worst invasive species that is incredibly difficult to remove by other means.
Professor Jones shared insights from his research and helped students understand what to expect as these natural controls begin their work in this multi-pronged approach. It was an incredible moment of learning, connecting science, and real-world impact, and it also reflects our call to be good stewards and to care for God's creation.
We are especially grateful for his generosity and enthusiasm—when one of our students reached out, he responded with genuine excitement and a willingness to invest his time in our school community.
Learning like this makes a lasting impact. 🌱

Earlier this year, during one of our weekly Research & Development sessions, we welcomed Christina Crook, founder of JoMO, to speak with our faculty and staff about teaching Christianly in a distracted age.
Together, we reflected on how our technology holds great potential for good—but requires wise stewardship. Through our partnership with JoMO, students are rediscovering life beyond their phones, with growing engagement in the classroom and deeper community connection.
Christina shared practical tools and classroom practices to foster a healthier, more intentional relationship with technology—one that is relational, discerning, and life-giving.
As JoMO promotes, we want our students to create more than they consume, to be active rather than passive, and to choose togetherness over isolation.
This is how we continue learning to thrive Christianly in a digital age.
🔹Parents, join us next Thursday, April 30 at King's for an evening designed to support you in the journey toward digital well-being for the teens we love.

Our students embarked on a Global Learning Trip during the March Break through Italy—exploring the ancient streets of Rome, the artistic heart of Florence, and the canals of Venice. From standing in awe at iconic landmarks to experiencing world-renowned art and architecture, each moment made history and culture feel real and accessible for students.
Highlights included exploring ancient ruins, visiting incredible museums, and even taking part in a hands-on Italian cooking class! Along the way, students deepened their understanding of the connections between history, religion, and politics that have shaped modern Europe.
Beyond the landmarks, what truly stood out was the growth of our students. They confidently navigated busy city streets, stayed organized, and supported one another every step of the way. It was amazing to see new friendships form, students encouraging each other to try new foods, and groups naturally coming together to make the most of every experience.
This journey wasn’t just about where they went—it was about how they grew.
Thank you Chaperones 🌟

Bible & Technology: Storytelling in Grade 10
Our Grade 10 students are bringing Scripture to life through creativity and technology!
For this project, students are creating stop-motion videos that capture a “human moment” from Matthew 21–28, told from the perspective of a character within the story. By stepping into the shoes of those who witnessed the final days of Jesus’ life, students explore the emotion, tension, and meaning behind these moments in the New Testament. From storyboarding and set design to filming and post-production editing, students are experiencing the full process of media creation.
This project is part of our Bible-centred Communications Technology course, where students explore the Bible as God’s story and consider how their own stories intersect with it through a media lens. Along the way, they develop practical skills in video production, audio creation, photography, graphic design, animation, and interactive media, learning how to communicate meaningful messages creatively and effectively.
We’re proud of the collaboration and thoughtful storytelling our students are demonstrating in this project!

Our Grade 12 Check-ins have been a meaningful space for reflection, growth, and connection.
Over the past few weeks, our Grade 12s have taken time to pause and think intentionally about what truly matters to them. Through guided conversations, students explored their personal values, identified the principles that shape their decisions, and reflected on the kind of people they aspire to be as they step into life beyond high school. Students used an online tool to help reflect on past experiences and analyze intersections with core values worth holding onto.
A highlight of the process was having students share their reflections with classmates. Listening to different perspectives, offering encouragement, and recognizing shared experiences helped strengthen their sense of connection as a group.

King's recently hosted a wrestling tournament, welcoming athletes from 13 different schools. Wrestlers showed incredible dedication, putting their training to work and competing with focus and determination in every match. During breaks, fellow students joined in cheering on their peers, creating an energetic and supportive atmosphere that helped boost team spirit. In addition, student volunteers played a key role in the event by assisting with timing, scorekeeping, and other essential tasks.
We are especially thankful for Mr. Fusilli's leadership and support in organizing the tournament, as well as for Mr. Chaffee and Ms. Aly Sferlazza for their willing and enthusiastic support throughout the event.
Overall, the tournament highlighted the hard work of our athletes, coaches, and students who came together to make the event a success.
