We’re honoured to be named The 2026 Readers’ Charity of Choice ! ❤️ As one of Canada’s oldest charities, the YMCA believes no one should ever be denied access to programs and service that build health and well- being. Last year we provided more than $ 280,000 in financial support and free programming to our community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who took the time to support the YMCA of Oakville and recognize our charitable work, and we are proud to celebrate alongside other local organizations at the awards celebration.

Through Oakville News’ Community Leaders Program, we’re proud to support local journalism and help amplify stories that matter, including stories of local youth taking action and making a difference in our community.

Thank you, Oakville, for this recognition. We’re proud to be part of this community! ❤️

Keeping our Golden Hearts community informed and safe. ❤️

We’re grateful to the TD Bank Cyber Security team for hosting a free scam awareness workshop for our Golden Hearts members.

The session covered current cyber fraud trends in Canada, common scams targeting seniors, warning signs to look out for, and practical tips to help protect against fraud.

Thank you to the TD team for sharing your time and expertise with our members and helping build confidence and awareness around staying safe online. ❤️

What does Golden Hearts mean to the people who are part of it? 🧡

For our members, it’s about more than a program. It’s about friendship, connection, trying new things, staying active and feeling a sense of belonging in the community.

We asked some of our Golden Hearts members to share what the program means to them, and their words say it best.

This National Seniors Day, we’re celebrating the people, connections and memories that make our Golden Hearts community so special. 🧡

Today, September 30, we pause to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

We honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the ongoing journey toward truth and reconciliation.

Today is a time to listen, learn and reflect, and to continue taking meaningful steps toward a future where every child is valued, respected and safe.

Every Child Matters. 🧡
