Our strawberry plant dreams have been crushed 😫. None of our little seeds have sprouted a single leaf (or even sprouted at all). ☹️
I heard through the grapevine though that strawberry plants are hard to germinate, so we’re going to blame the plants, not our amateur skills! Optimism is key! Maybe they might surprise us in the next 2 days! 🍓🌱

Before we knew it, the holiday season is officially here! Our buddy Ned is getting into the festive spirit the only way he knows how – by carefully assembling a Christmas gift with his very own tools straight from Santa’s workshop 🎅. Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing holiday season filled with cheer!
Happy Holidays! 🎄🎁

A huge thank you to everyone who visited our booth, and an even bigger thank you to the amazing team behind STAO for putting on such a fantastic event! 🌟
This was the first conference for both Sophia and me, and it was such a rewarding experience from the inspiring conversations to all the new things we learned throughout the two days.
It was also Ned’s first STAO, and between us… he absolutely stole the show. 🎪🤖✨

Visit us at STAO Celebrates tomorrow and Friday!
We’re thrilled to be exhibiting and sharing how innovative tools can enhance hands-on learning in the science classroom.
Don’t miss our workshop, “Hands-On with Niryo: Bringing Collaborative Robotics into the Classroom,” on November 27th from 2:00–2:30 PM.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Our fast plants have officially graduated, and now we’ve welcomed a brand-new class of kindergarteners into our PASCO Greenhouse: strawberry plants! 🍓
We planted them under three different conditions.
• Sophia’s strawberries were germinated for about three weeks before going into the greenhouse (assuming I germinated them correctly… no promises).
• Caleb’s strawberries skipped germination completely and went straight from the bag into the greenhouse.
• Rhonda’s strawberries also came straight from the bag but are spending their days on the windowsill.
Now we wait to see how they all fare! These little guys require patience, and they will take a lot longer than our fast plants ever did. 🌿

Our Wisconsin Fast Plants have officially graduated from the PASCO Greenhouse! 🎓🌱 After a month of growth, blooming moments, and lots of plant power, we’re proud to present the Class of 2025!
🌼 Sophia’s plant proudly takes home Most Dependable, Most Out of the Box Thinker, and Most Photogenic!
From Day 1 she has grown steady and strong, and she literally thinks outside the pot by growing out of it instead of up! With petals that pretty, how could she not win Most Photogenic? 🌸🏵
🌿 Caleb’s earns Most Improved, Most Likely to Be President, and Most Likely to Be Late to Class!
He started off sparse and scraggly and worked his way all the way to the top — literally, he’s our tallest grad! After that comeback story, it is easy to imagine him climbing the rankings and running for president, even if he shows up late to the campaign trail. 😅🏛️
🍃 Rhonda’s takes Most Likely to Never Change, Most Stubborn, and Best Personality!
She has grown just a little this month, proving that slow and steady is her style, though she’s on track for her first flower! Her roots are firmly set in her own routine, making her perfectly stubborn. And even as one of the smallest plants, she outshines the rest with her charm and lovable personality. 💪✨
Congrats to the Class of 2025! 🎉🌱 We cannot wait to see where their next chapter takes them. There is nothing these plants cannot grow through!

To celebrate our first snowfall of the season, we decided to do a little science experiment! ❄️
Earlier today, Caleb asked a simple but intriguing question: Is the snow on the ground the same temperature as the air around it? Neither of us had really thought about it before, but once the question came up, we had to find out.
Using PASCO’s Wireless Temperature Sensor with Display, we measured both the air temperature and the temperature of the snow.
Here’s what we discovered:
1. The ambient air temperature was about 0.2°C (even though the weather report said it was around –1°C).
2. When we placed the sensor in the snow, there was a brief spike in warmth before the reading dropped and settled around 0.1°C.
So, based on our mini experiment, it looks like the snow is actually a bit colder than the air above it!
Science really does make the cold days a little cooler! ❄️🌡️🔬

Our fast plants have been working overtime since the last update! Team Greenhouse is clearly thriving, the flowers are blooming, and leaves are flourishing. Meanwhile, Team Windowsill is taking the “slow and steady” approach… no flowers yet, but we believe in them!
One curious twist: Team Greenhouse has much darker leaves than Team Windowsill. Could the artificial grow light be their secret weapon? The more they grow, the more questions we sprout! 🌼 🌱 💪
