Find out out more here: https://linktr.ee/TipToeMusic Originally from England, she has sung and performed in choirs, groups and opera throughout school, university and adult life in the UK, Europe and Hong Kong, including The Hong Kong Bach Choir and The Cecilian Singers in Hong Kong, as well as the London EC4 Choir and Dorset Opera, England. She has flute and piano qualifications from the Royal School of Music, London, England. Music is a way of life for E-J, she and her children were also an active Music Together® family for eight years, with all three of her children sharing together in the Music Together® experience. This passion for sharing her love of music with her children led E-J to get her Music Together teacher training qualifications in Melbourne, Australia in October 2013. Since then E-J has taught Music Together family classes in Hong Kong and Canada, and is also now a Music Together Inschool specialist, teaching in Oakville schools as TipToe Music. E-J firmly believes that music is an integral part of learning for all children, and enjoys supporting families and local communities to help children grow to be happy and confident through their love of music.

Just a reminder - select classes only ARE RUNNING over the Thanksgiving long weekend!

Friday and Saturday classes are running as usual, and we’ll be closed Sunday and Monday.

If you can’t make your usual Saturday class please mark your absence in the parent portal on the website and book a make up class for another time - don’t forget that make ups are unlimited but must be used within the semester.

We can’t wait to see you and enjoy a wonderful long weekend making music together.

PA DAY = BRING A BIG KID TO MUSIC!

School is out this Friday, so if you have an older sibling home, we’d love for them to join you at TipToe!

Registered TipToe families are welcome to bring older siblings along to their regularly scheduled class. Everyone is welcome to join the music-making fun, and we’re asking for a suggested $20 donation to the TipToe Cares Community Fund for each visiting sibling.

The Community Fund helps make music experiences more accessible to local families who could use a little extra support. So while your big kid gets to spend their PA Day singing, dancing and making music with you, your family is also helping another family access music.

A few important details:
• This is for currently registered TipToe families bringing an older sibling to their regular Friday class.
• Please let the office know ahead of time that you’re bringing a sibling so we can make sure we have space in the room.
• The suggested donation is $20 per visiting sibling.
• You can donate cash directly to your teacher, make payment via the website or send an e-transfer to the TipToe office.

A little extra music for one family can help create a little more opportunity for another. We think that’s a pretty lovely way to spend a PA Day.

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN US THIS FALL!

Fall classes are underway, but there’s still time to make music with us.

If you’ve been thinking about joining TipToe Music but haven’t quite made it happen yet, consider this your sign. You haven’t missed your chance.

From Music Together Babies classes for 0-7 months, to Music Together family classes for ages 0–5, homeschool groups, and Rhythm Kids® for ages 4–8, there’s still a place for your family to jump into the fun.

Our classes are about so much more than adding another activity to the calendar. They’re a chance to slow down, make music together, build confidence, explore movement and creativity, and connect with other families.

For our 4–8 year olds, Rhythm Kids® brings drumming, movement, musical learning, games and leadership together in a seriously fun after-school experience.

You don’t need to have been here from week one. Come join the music, the movement and the community this fall.

IT’S FINALLY HERE! Our Rhythm Kids after-school program begins today. (Yes, I know it’s Saturday. 😂)

We’ve been talking about Rhythm Kids all week because we want you to know: this is not just Music Together for bigger kids. Rhythm Kids is its own thing!

Think drumming. Games. Movement. Music from around the world. Creativity. Friendship. Leadership. And plenty of learning!

Kids get to make music, explore instruments, work together, build confidence and discover that music can open up a pretty big world.

And yes… it’s A LOT of fun.

After-school Wednesdays are available, with limited spots remaining Saturdays at 12 noon.

The loveliest surprise landed in my inbox the other day, and I’m still smiling about it.

TipToe Music has been named Readers’ Favourite for Music Instruction by The Oakville News.

I genuinely didn’t see this coming, maybe that’s why it has meant so much to me. I started TipToe because I really believed there should be a place where families could come together, make music, have fun and give their children the chance to discover just how musical they can be.

What started as an idea has grown into something I feel incredibly proud of. But I don’t always stop to think about that. Most days, I’m just doing the work. Planning classes. Answering emails. Moving instruments from one location to another. Training our team. Solving problems. Thinking about the little details. Wondering how we can make something just a little bit better for the families who trust us with their children.

There are definitely days when running a small business feels like A LOT!

So to have people in our community take the time to vote for TipToe and say, in their own way, “We see what you’re doing”… well, that got me.

So, from me to every TipToe family who voted, shared, sang, danced, made music with us and trusted us with your little (and not-so-little!) music-makers, thank you. Truly.

To my team, thank you for bringing your own magic to TipToe every single week. This belongs to you too.

And to Oakville News, thank you for hosting such a lovely event and for creating an opportunity to celebrate the people and small businesses that make this community what it is. It was so nice to meet some of the other winners in person and hear their stories too.

I’m very proud of this little business I started, and I’m even more grateful for the families who have helped make it what it is. This one feels pretty special. Such a lovely way to kick off the fall.

My vision? To have a room filled with noisy 4-8 year old music makers drumming, moving, singing, exploring, experimenting and creating. Together.

Not perfect or polished. Just making music and having a ridiculous amount of fun. That’s the kind of music class I want to create each week with our Rhythm Kids.

If you have a music-maker who would love to get their hands on a drum and make some noise with us, Rhythm Kids is here for them.

They said kids should just sit still… so we get them moving!🪘

But here’s the thing: they’re learning too. They’re learning rhythm, beat, timing, listening, coordination, musical patterns, improvisation, composition and how to play together. They’re building focus, confidence, creativity and leadership too.

And they’re doing it without sitting at a piano for 30 minutes being told to practise that same song again (and again!). There’s absolutely a place for private music lessons. But not every child learns best by sitting still, reading notes and practising at home.

Some kids need to move first. Play first. Explore first. In a group. Having fun.

That’s Rhythm Kids. It’s real musical learning. Lots of movement.And yes… lots of drumming too!🪘
