September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day for remembrance, mourning, learning, unlearning and growth. It is an opportunity to honour the survivors, families and communities impacted by residential schools.
At Sheridan, we remain committed to reconciliation by creating space for Indigenous voices, fostering understanding and supporting healing. Today, members of our community are visiting the Woodland Cultural Centre — a former residential school in Ontario that has now reopened as an interpretive historic site and museum.
We encourage you to wear orange today to show your support and solidarity. Together, we honour the past and recommit to a more just and inclusive future.
