Registrations for this initiative will now be accepted until 11:59 pm on October 7, 2026.

Canada has updated temporary measures for Palestinians affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

IRCC says the measures are now extended until December 30, 2027, with two key parts:

1. People in Canada who received an open work permit under the previous temporary measures may apply to extend it. Standard processing fees apply.

2. Eligible Palestinians who arrive in Canada on or before September 30, 2027, and did not apply under the previous measures may be able to apply from inside Canada for fee-exempt study permits, open work permits, temporary resident permits, or temporary resident status extensions.

Canada also continues to provide support such as temporary financial assistance, interim federal health coverage, and settlement services for displaced Palestinians once they arrive.
