Our Creative Writing Workshop is designed for young writers who are ready to bring their ideas to life. Throughout the morning, students will explore the writing process—from developing an idea to creating a polished, “published” piece they can be proud of.

Math comes to life when learning is hands-on!

Last week at our Number Sense Boot Camp, our campers put their math skills to work by creating their own store! From pricing items and counting money to making purchases and writing receipts, the kids had the opportunity to practise important math skills in a fun and meaningful way.

It was a great way to build confidence with money, addition, subtraction, and problem-solving - all while learning through play and real-life experiences.

At Summit Ridge Academy, we believe that when kids can see how math connects to the world around them, learning becomes more engaging, memorable, and meaningful.

Last week, we watched something incredible happen.

Friendships were formed. Confidence grew. And learning happened in ways that felt natural, meaningful, and fun.

Every activity was thoughtfully designed around the unique strengths and needs of our students, creating individualized learning within a supportive group setting. Along the way, we saw children take on challenges they never thought they could, discovering just how capable they really are.

One of our favourite moments? Watching kids ask if they could keep writing—without even realizing they were building essential literacy skills. When learning is engaging and purposeful, it stops feeling like work.

Our campers reminded us that learning is about so much more than academics. It’s about curiosity, connection, resilience, and believing in yourself. They taught us just as much as we taught them, proving that the best classrooms are filled with lifelong learners—teachers included.

It’s been an incredible week at Summit Ridge Academy with our adorable chicks!

They’ve quickly become everyone’s favourite visitors - they’re incredibly friendly, love being held, and often end up falling asleep right in our student’s hands!

Our students have had so much fun observing, cuddling, and learning about these little ones over the past week. It’s been such a special hands-on experience, and the excitement they’ve brought to the centre has been amazing to see.

We’ll be sad to see our feathered friends head home in just 2 days, but we’re so grateful for all the wonder memories they’ve helped create!
