Making progress with my 100 days of meditation stitching. I have chosen to use only my rust dyed and eco printed fabrics. Each fabric piece will suggest/direct the stitching….at least for now! 100 days is a lot of stitching!

Had great fun the other evening with my SAQA friends making these adorable thread bowls…I just can’t stop at one! Thank you Merideth for a wonderful “how to” online class!

I am going to give it a go…the 100 day stitch meditation facilitated by Liz Kettle. I am currently only 2 days behind but will catch up! I have decided to use an “organic” approach to my fabric selection and select rust, hand dyed as well as my eco printed fabrics. The stitching will just happen - at least that is the plan! Day one is complete with rust dye fabric and an old tea bag…so far a good start!

Snow Dying
With so much snow…why not give snow dying a try. I used a combination of natural and manufactured powdered dyes with PFD fabric mordanted with soda ash. I am pleased with the results!

Thanks to Jenny for her patience as I finished her incredible quilt “Infinity” by Jacqueline de Jonge. It took both of us a very long time to complete this beauty, but I think it was worth it for both of us! Given the array of bright colours and intricate design, I decided to quilt only circles, straight lines and a few curved lines to enhance the piecing. Thread choice was neutral 100 weight InvisaFil threads. So pleased how it turned out!

Look at this beauty I had the pleasure of quilting! The client took 15 years to piece this king size quilt and I took a very long time to quilt it! Quilting is both freehand organic feathers and ruler work. Pattern is Crown of Glory by The Rabbit Factory. Both the client and myself were very pleased with the end results!

I had the honour of attending the Grand National Fiber Arts Exhibition “Delights” opening today at the Woodstock Art Gallery.
