Olsen Lab explores the organization and structures of brain to understand how memories are formed

Hello!
We are recruiting healthy young participants between the ages of 18-30 who are fluent in English (e.g., learned English as late as 12 years old) for a visual memory study of everyday images.

Study Description:
During the experiment, you will view pictures of everyday images (e.g., fire hydrant, beach, etc..) while you wear an eye-tracker. The eye tracker uses a harmless infrared light to record your eye movements. You will be prompted to respond with various keyboard presses.

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria include a history of psychological disorders (e.g., clinical depression, schizophrenia) and neurological disorders including traumatic brain injury. You must have normal or corrected-to-normal vision.

Compensation: $55 total for 2.5 hours maximum
Location: Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest Hospital at 3560 Bathurst St. (in North York near Yorkdale)

OPEN SCIENCE MANAGER
(Non-Union, 70 hours Bi-weekly, One-year contract).

The Rotman Research Institute (RRI) in Toronto, Canada, is a premier international centre for the study of human brain function, with a focus on memory and cognition in healthy and pathological aging. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead our OS initiatives.

Responsibilities: Lead the development and optimization of OS policies, educational initiatives, and processes and systems that support and track OS activities; pursue funding for OS activities; and liaise with researchers and leadership as well as IT and research ethics.
Qualifications: Master’s degree (or higher) in computer science, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or psychology (or equivalent); experience working in the research community.
Skills include: Working knowledge of the OS landscape, the research process, data management and research ethics as it pertains to OS; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Assets: Project management skills; advanced skills in data analysis, database management, programming or (neuro)informatics; experience in training researchers and health professionals.
