Last tournament of the school year coming up. So excited to finish strong!

An example to all the kids back at the academy -

Many kids competed for the first time this weekend (at our in-house) and many lost or had a tough day. We had the opportunity to show off Finn. We explained that he use to have a very hard time at tournaments. Lots of tears and hard days. But if he gave up it would end there. It’s much more fun to keep playing and keeping getting better. We showed the class finns belt and encouraged them into the next round of comps.

This is what it’s all about not winning. But overcoming hard things. Loss, frustration, injuries. We are so proud of Finn and our whole kids program overall!

Community in jiu jitsu -

It’s funny and sometimes sad that people come and go in your life. That’s the nature of things. But it’s very special to see such unlikely bonds being made. At 6am, noons, night classes and even kids classes. So many different people coming together and having fun. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs in the past 10 years but we are excited to keep providing a positive environment for people to meet and learn. Make new favourite people.

Our 10 year BBQ is on June 27, 2026. All friends of roll are invited it’s going to be a big moment to sit down and bond with the community. Filips making bbq, TJ’s bringing spikeball for the kids, Potluck from everyone. It’s gonna be great!
