This week we said goodbye to the month of May. Our main focus in May was on farm animals. Bunnies seem to enjoy the activities and the time they spend together.
Our main focus in June will be on insects. ππ ππ·οΈ

A trip to Maplewood Farm
Since our main focus in May was on farm animals, today we took our curious bunnies for a trip to the Maplewood farm.
Like always our bunnies were very excited and seemed to enjoy their trip, the time with the friendly animals and their friends outside the daycare.
A big thank you to our lovely staff and our beautiful families that helped the day go smoothly that our bunnies can have a fun trip.
Love you all and have a relaxing weekend!ππΉ

Many adults think praise is always helpful. It is not.
When children only hear βgood jobβ or βyou are so smartβ, they can start to rely on approval instead of learning how to cope, try again, and improve. Over time, this can make them give up more easily, avoid challenges, or feel pressure to always be βthe bestβ.
What children actually need is to feel seen. Not judged. Not labelled.
They need adults to notice effort, small progress, and the behaviours they can repeat. That is what builds real confidence and resilience - not empty praise.
This is a small shift, but it changes how children see themselves for life.

WHY MUSIC IS NEEDED FOR BRAIN DEVELOPMENT & LEARNING
"Not only is music a success oriented and engaging means of addressing these skill areas [speech/language, fine motor, gross motor, cognition and social skills], music drives neuroplasticity by pairing non-musical skills with music. This engages multiple systems of the brain in synchrony and fosters communication between both hemispheres."

My special thanks and gratitude go to all past and present staff of our beautiful Little Bunnies Learning Centre, who, over the past 25 years, have helped me provide a warm, stimulating, educational, βhome away from homeβ for the cute little bunnies in our care in Greater Vancouver.
I couldnβt have done this work without them.ππ½ππ½πΉβ€οΈ
I feel very blessed and thankful to have spent my entire adult life working with children.

Happy Birthday to our special planet β our Mother Earth! π
This week, and especially today, we celebrated our beautiful planetβs special day by singing related songs, reading books, planting flowers, collecting garbage, and soaking peas with our bunnies.
