Together, they led a session titled “Raising the Next Generation of Outdoor Recreation Leaders”, sharing the importance of creating intentional community and insights on how to build continuing youth engagement in outdoor spaces🌱

Our students spent three days and two nights in the Duffey Lake area developing winter travel and safety skills through Avalanche Canada AST Level 2.

This May, we’re heading to the heart of the Interior for a milestone event. The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC is hosting its 2026 Conference at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, and you’re invited!
The ORC is marking their 50th Anniversary, and is bringing together outdoor enthusiasts, Indigenous partners, community leaders, and government representatives from across the province. This is a rare opportunity to engage in face-to-face dialogue with the decision-makers who influence public recreation and land use in BC.

🌲OREC students went out to build a new section of trail as part of a volunteer leadership activity for the NSMBA.
The outcome was double what was anticipated by the Facilitator! Amazing what fourteen intrepid souls can accomplish in the sunshine and the forest🌿🌟
