Time to check out and register for our next annual Conference at Capilano University organized by the Centre for Research and Childhood Studies.

Conference theme: Unruly Childhoods. Untethering Praxis

Date: April 11, 2026, 8 am- 5 pm

Venue: Capilano University’s North Vancouver Campus

Conference theme
Unruly childhoods remind us that pedagogy is not a fixed script but a living disruption — a refusal of neat categories and an invitation to reimagine education as improvisation, resistance, and possibility. This conference foregrounds disruption as a generative force, asking us to rethink our praxis in spaces where educators, children, families, and environments resist conformity and welcome plurality.

Developmental Screening With Indigenous Families: Perspectives of Early Years Home Visitors on the ASQ-3 03/22/2025

From our wonderful colleague, Dr. Anita Ewan:

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Melissa Tremblay and highlighting some of the incredible work she’s doing with Indigenous children and families in Alberta in this recent publication. While measurement tools can be problematic when not applied with care, Dr. Tremblay’s work thoughtfully addresses these concerns by grounding her approach in a relational and culturally safe framework.

Exploration of Sound, Music, and Movement - Child Care Options The sense of wonder is one of the most natural and present abilities of all children. The power to explore the world using all senses should always be cherished and fully utilized in child care centers, as the BC Early Learning Framework suggests. Our workshop will engage with the sense of hearing a...
