A big congrats to Olive Grove's Employee of the Month for June, Tecia!

Tecia has been working in the ECE field for one and a half years.

Tecia was born and raised in Brazil, and many people are surprised to learn that Portuguese is her first language! Tecia's favourite food is a Brazilian dish called estrogonofe. It is inspired by the Russian dish stroganoff, but it has been adapted to Brazilian tastes. It is typically served with rice and potato chips.

In her spare time, Tecia enjoys walking around downtown Vancouver and discovering new restaurants to try. Recently, she has started enjoying watching baseball games at the Vancouver Canadians stadium. She still doesn't understand all the rules, but loves watching the games. Whenever Tecia visits the Lonsdale location, the preschoolers are always eager to teach her the baseball rules, which makes the experience even more special!

Our infants love caring for their baby dolls, practicing gentle touches, cuddles, and lots of love. These sweet moments help build empathy and social-emotional skills while having fun through play! 🍼💖

This week we kicked off our soccer practises with Pedalheads! ⚽️ We learned some amazing skills and had tons of fun with our coach. FIFA here we come!!🏆

Taking our love of reading outdoors! 📚☀️🌲

Our infants and toddler have been spending more time outdoors these days, so they set up an outdoor cozy area! This area is a welcoming spot when the kids need a quiet moment on their own or want to enjoy a book with a friend.

Provocations: simple materials go a long way!

Setting up morning provocations for both infants and toddlers can be a challenge. We find that sometimes, the simpler the better! Let the imagination do the work…💭
