Here are some activities for youth over the summer.

EVENTS, WORKSHOPS & MORE
• NVCL Newcomer Teen Language Lab – North Vancouver City Library are hosting a weekly language lab on Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm. This program is open to teens in grade 8-12 to practise English conversation skills, improve confidence and make new friends. • DNV Youth Action Grants – The District of North Vancouver is providing a limited funding opportunity for youth to take meaningful actions that improve physical and digital spaces across the North Shore. The application period ends on Sunday, February 15, 2026. For more information or to apply, see https://www.dnv.org/community-environment/youth-action-grants.
• Karaoke & Open Mic Night – Youth Hub at Park Royal presents an evening of music and fun at our karaoke and open mic night on June 13 7:00pm-8:00pm. For more information, contact [email protected].
• Walking Group – Foundry presents a weekly walking group for youth (age 16-24) interested in staying active and connecting with peers in a supportive environment. The group meets at Foundry and walks along the Spirit Trail every Friday from 1:30pm-2:45pm starting June 13. To register, contact [email protected].
• Garibaldi Lake Trip – Foundry presents an 18km overnight hiking trip for youth (age 19-24) from Tuesday, July 8-Wednesday, July 9. This opportunity will connect youth with peers, enjoy nature, and spend time in a supportive and fun environment. Backpacking supplies and equipment available for those who need it. Youth must attend a pre-hike safety meeting and practice hike on Wednesday, July 2. To register, contact [email protected].
• Loutet Farms Summer Jobs – Foundry’s Work and Education Program is now hiring North Shore youth (age 15-24) for 2+ shifts per week at Loutet Farm. Applicants must engage in fewer than 15hrs per week in work, school or training and must be experiencing health or social barriers to education and/or employment goals. A mandatory orientation workshop takes place on Thursday, June 26 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. For more information or to register, contact [email protected].
• Carving Our Path – Capilano Community Services presents a workshop at Lions Gate Rec Centre for Youth (age 12-24) to create a wood carving for youth spaces no experience needed. Participants will learn Indigenous wood carving skills with Indigenous artist Theodore Baker on Wednesdays, June 4-July 2 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. To register, contact [email protected].

• NVCL Youth Drop-In – The Room on the 2nd Floor of North Vancouver City Library is reserved for youth (grade 7-12) Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm-6:00pm and Friday from 3:00pm-5:00pm to hang out with friends, complete homework, read, use computers, etc. Registration is not required. • West Van Youth Drop-In Programs – West Vancouver Youth Services offers a number of drop-in opportunities for youth (grade 6-12) from Monday-Saturday. • Foundry Drop-in Counselling & Primary Care – Foundry North Shore offers drop-in counselling from 1:00pm-5:00pm Monday-Thursdays and 1:00pm-4:00pm on Fridays. • Fearless: Youth Empowering Programming – North Shore Women’s Centre presents expanded youth program with a vision to become a “girls hub” for female-identifying and gender diverse youth. For more information, see https://www.northshorewomen.ca/fearless.
• Wired 4 Success – Hollyburn Community Services Society offers an ongoing 13 week program designed for youth (age 16-30) with barriers to employment. This program offers individualized planning, financial support, work experience and education encouraging youth to secure employment in their field of interest. • Empowerment – Capilano Community Services presents a community support group for female-identifying, non-binary and trans youth (age 16-24). • North Shore PACT – The CMHA has launched a civilian-led team that will respond to crisis calls related to mental health and substance use on the North Shore. Youth (age 13+) can receive over the phone or in-person help with a range of mental health issues. Reaching out to our fabulous community once again. We are looking for LEGO pieces as well as small hand held games and puzzles. Donations can be taken to the school office or reach out and we can come to you for pick up. Thank you.
