CPHR AMBASSADOR RECRUITMENT:

CPHR BC & Yukon are recruiting new 2022 - 2023 CPHR Student Ambassadors for the Lower Mainland, specifically for Capilano University. The position helps promote partnerships between the institution's students, teachers, and staff and CPHR BC & Yukon. This opportunity is a fantastic way for you to become more active with their professional organization and make a difference in their community.

We are looking forward to receiving applications from any student in HR programs or HR faculty members!

The volunteer position is only applied for students who are CPHR BC & Yukon members.

Meet our third guest speaker, Francesca. She has worked as an HR professional for more than 30 years. She achieved the CHRL designation in Ontario, and when she moved to BC in 2018, she was recognised as a CPHR by the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources BC & Yukon. Starting her career in the private sector with non-unionised employers in Ontario, Francesca has held various roles from HR Generalist, Compensation and Benefits Specialist and HR Manager. In 2008 she began working at York University to gain experience working in a unionised environment and she was a senior advisor on labour relations. Currently, she is working at the University of Victoria as a Faculty Relations Consultant.

Francesca has great knowledge about labour relations, join us on April 1st and connect with her!

Meet our next guest speaker, Robin Furby, an instructor at Capilano University. He has a diverse range of academic and industry skills and experiences. Over the past 10 years, he has worked in the tourism, hospitality, and event management industries. Through his experiences, academic research and teaching, he continues to build a depth of understanding about people, organizations, leadership, and human resource management.

Meet our first guest speaker, Chris Girodat, the executive director of the Capilano Students' Union, the organization that represents the university's 7,000 undergraduate and graduate credit students here at Capilano University. He has over a decade of human resources and management experience in both the non-profit and retail sectors.
