June marks Pride Month in Canada, a time to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and continue advocating for equity, safety, and inclusion.
As we recognize both Pride Month and Indigenous History Month, it is important to uplift Two-Spirit and Indigi-queer voices and experiences. Colonialism attempted to erase gender and sexual diversity within many Indigenous communities, but today, many Two-Spirit people continue to reclaim space, share their stories, and lead important conversations. Uplifting these voices is part of reconciliation.
