Join us for the book launch of THE PARALLEL PROJECT!
THE PARALLEL PROJECT was co-founded by Argel Monte de Ramos and Jocelyn Tsui in 2020 as a means of creating more monologues by and for IBPOC and racialized artists. The book is the culmination of five years of monologue writing workshops produced by Momentum 180 in partnership with Playwrights Theatre Centre and The Cultch, and features work by 22 Vancouver-based IBPOC and racialized emerging playwrights.

Grease Celebration Post Part 2/2! ⚡🎶
We had so many amazing alumni involved in CTORA’s Grease that we had to split our celebration into two posts!
A huge congratulations again to Katrina Teitz, Stephanie Barclay, Alex Villaverde Lopez, Amanda Lourenço, Ava Stark, Brett Williams, Kyla Ward, Maia Beresford, Manuela Palmieri, Maria Marshall, Owen Connolly, and faculty member Brian Ball for all of their incredible work both on stage and behind the scenes throughout this fantastic production.

We’re so proud to celebrate the amazing alumni helping bring this iconic musical to life on stage and behind the scenes. Congratulations to Katrina Teitz, who took on the dual role of Patti Simcox and Fight Director, Stephanie Barclay as Head of Props, Alex Villaverde Lopez in the ensemble and as Roger and Johnny Casino, Amanda Lourenço as Marty and Intimacy Captain, Ava Stark as Sandy Dumbrowski, Brett Williams as Doody, Kyla Ward as Frenchy, Maia Beresford in the ensemble, radio singer, and as cover for Sandy, Marty, and Frenchy, Manuela Palmieri as Betty Rizzo, Maria Marshall as Jan, and Owen Connolly as Eugene Florczyc.
It’s always so exciting to see our graduates collaborating together across every aspect of a production, from performance and leadership to design and production support. We love seeing this community of artists continuing to create vibrant and exciting theatre for audiences.
We also want to give a special shout out to faculty member Brian Ball for his fantastic work as Set Designer on the production. His artistry and mentorship continue to make a huge impact both in the classroom and on stage.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Singers in a Smoky Room on a sold out run and happy closing weekend to the entire company! 🎶✨
We’re thrilled to celebrate our incredible alumni Konrad Lasocki as Chord Watts and Sandrine Boudrias as Tasha Brooks in this hit production with First Impressions Theatre. The show has been bringing audiences into the “Flashback Club” with iconic 80s hits, comedy, and powerhouse performances all run long.
We also want to give a special shout out to Austin Leitch as Mick Rimer. While Austin is a graduate of Capilano University's amazing Jazz Studies program, he took acting electives through our department and discovered a passion for acting along the way. Way to go, Austin!

We’re continuing the celebration of this incredible team as they head into their closing weekend—don’t miss your chance to catch the final performances of Shrek the Musical!
We’re so proud of our talented alumni who are bringing this production to life both on stage and behind the scenes. From unforgettable performances to the creative and technical work happening offstage, this show is full of the artistry, collaboration, and excellence we love to see from our community.
It’s especially exciting to see so many of our grads taking on multiple roles within the production, stepping into leadership positions, covering principal tracks, and helping to keep the show running seamlessly. That kind of versatility and professionalism is exactly what makes this group so special.
We also want to once again highlight our esteemed faculty member Kimberly Markarian, whose work as Producer continues to support and elevate professional theatre while staying deeply connected to the next generation of artists.
