https://www.animalalliance.ca/campaigns/end-primate-research-in-ontario/ Infant monkeys belong with their mummies, and family groups - not in despair-ridden torture chambers. Speak up for them NOW! Did you know that standard practice allows for them to be immobilized without any pain relief or anaesthesia? And these were healthy little beings, their mothers shot out of jungle trees and killed before them, while these babies were stuffed in nets in filthy holds of ships then transported thousands of miles to Canada's labs. Happy Canada Day

End Primate Research in Ontario - Animal Alliance of Canada Video footage recorded inside a York University research facility by a whistleblower working with a U.S.-based group, Last Chance for Animals, reveals disturbing conditions and ethically questionable research practices. VICTORY! šŸŽ‰šŸ¾ Maryland just took a major step forward for animals ā¤ļø
Governor Wes Moore has signed the Animal Research Modernization and Best Practices Act (SB 423) into law—bringing real change for dogs, cats, and other animals used in experiments.
Here’s what this means:
😺 Companies testing pesticides, chemicals, and household products must switch to non-animal methods as soon as approved alternatives are available
šŸ“Š Labs are now required to report how many dogs and cats are adopted after experiments end
🚫 Cruel practices like devocalizing dogs and cats are now banned
This is more than legislation—it’s progress. It’s accountability. It’s compassion in action šŸ’›
Huge thanks to Benjamin Kramer and Bonnie Cullison for championing this bill—and to everyone who spoke up and made their voices heard šŸ™Œ
Change happens when people care.

California just made a move that could change how animals are treated in labs across the country.

For years, dogs and cats have been used in chemical testing. Many were forced to inhale, swallow, or be injected with substances. They had no choice. They felt the pain and fear.

Now, California has stepped in.

The state passed a law that stops unnecessary chemical testing on dogs and cats. This includes testing for pesticides, industrial chemicals, and other products when safer alternatives already exist.

This matters more than it may seem.

These animals are not tools. They are companions. They trust humans. And for a long time, that trust was broken behind closed lab doors.

This law does not end all animal testing. Some testing is still allowed, especially when required by federal law or for medical research. But this is still a major shift. It sends a message that cruelty is no longer acceptable when there are better options.

Change does not always happen overnight. It happens step by step. And this is one of those steps.

California is the first state to take this stand. Others are watching.

Progress like this happens because people speak up. Because they care. Because they refuse to look away.

And for many dogs and cats, this means a future with less suffering.
