Students from the STEM class and Chemistry 12 recently visited TRIUMF to explore Canada’s national particle accelerator laboratory.

During the visit, students learned about particle physics, medical isotope production, and advanced scientific research taking place right here in British Columbia. They had the opportunity to tour the facility, see cutting-edge technology in action, and connect classroom learning to real-world applications in science and engineering 🔧🔬

Some moments from our Spring Arts Assembly earlier this month ✨🎶

From dance, singing, and school band performances to painting, ceramics, sculptures, and more, our students filled the day with creativity and talent.

So proud to see them express themselves in so many different ways!

Last week, Bodwell was pleased to welcome Ken Withers from the University of Toronto to our campus.

During his visit, Ken toured our Launch Pad & STEM Lab, met with STEM Academy students, and saw first-hand the kind of applied learning, project work, and academic preparation taking place within Bodwell’s STEM pathway.

As part of Bodwell’s growing partnership with the University of Toronto, U of T continues to engage with our students, counsellors, and wider school community through school visits, admissions-readiness support, counselling briefings, workshops, and selected enrichment opportunities.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is the shared focus on preparing students not only to complete courses, but to develop the habits, maturity, and evidence of learning needed for success at globally competitive universities.

Through the STEM Academy and Launch Pad & Innovation Lab, Bodwell students are encouraged to demonstrate the qualities strong university applicants need: intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, resilience, applied problem-solving, and evidence-based learning. These experiences help students go beyond final grades and build a stronger academic profile through meaningful, authentic work.

The University of Toronto has also recognized the strength and consistency of Bodwell’s academic preparation, including the structured learning environment, clear expectations for students, and meaningful teacher assessment that support the reliability of a Bodwell transcript.

We are grateful for U of T’s continued engagement with Bodwell and for the confidence they have shown in our students and programs. This visit was a strong reflection of the learning happening every day in our STEM Academy and of the exciting opportunities this partnership continues to create for Bodwell students.

Thank you to Ken Withers and the University of Toronto for visiting Bodwell and for supporting our students as they prepare for university and beyond.

🎓 Private school or public school, what's actually the difference?

It's one of the most common questions families ask when exploring their options. And honestly, the answer is more nuanced than you might think.

In our latest blog post, we break it down clearly:
• What 'independent' vs. 'private' school really means in BC
• What public schools offer, and where their limitations are
• What sets a private school experience apart
• A side-by-side comparison to help you decide

Whether you're a local Metro-Vancouver family or an international family considering Canada, this is a good place to start.

Building the future through STEM 🤖⚙️

Last February, our students took part in UBC Geering Up, an outreach program designed to engage youth in hands‑on STEM learning through engineering, science, and technology.

They've challenged our students to think, design, and innovate. Through real‑world engineering and robotics, students turned curiosity into hands‑on problem solving and big ideas for the future.
