It's time!
Today at 9:30 AM is our Saturday Morning Social. This month we have not only coffee and donuts, but group demonstrations of our new Alsim AL250 flight training device!

We have three demo sessions scheduled for 9:45, 10:00, & 10:15, each of which can handle up to four people. Even better: you'll also be able to enter a draw to win a free hour on the Alsim!

Coffee starts at 9:30 AM in the VFC Lounge. See you soon!

Tomorrow is the Capital City Toy Run!

On Sunday, September 27th, the Annual Toy Run will be hosted at the Victoria Flying Club.

Have any kind of bike or trike? All makes, models, and riders are welcome and encouraged to come out and make this the biggest toy run ever!

When: Sunday, September 27th at 11:30 AM (kickstands up at noon)
Where: The starting point is the Oak Bay Marina parking lot and the ride finishes at the VFC's main ramp
Who: All bikes and trikes are welcome!

Not a rider? No problem! Show up with a new and unwrapped toy and help make some kid's dreams come true!

Today, we celebrate the country that gives us some of the most breathtaking skies in the world!

From rugged coastlines and towering mountains to rolling farmland and sparkling lakes, Canada looks a little different from up high. As aviators, we're lucky enough to experience that view every day.

This Canada Day, we're grateful for our members, students, instructors, volunteers, staff, and everyone who shares a passion for aviation. It's the first Saturday of the month and that means today at 9:30 AM it's time for coffee, pastries & a great presentation!

This month VFC is pleased to welcome Simon Dennis, Air Traffic Controller at Victoria Tower, and well-known "weather guru"!

Simon has been associated with VFC for many years as member and as an instructor, where he developed a reputation for his presentations on weather.

If you're looking to learn more about local weather patterns and our wild west coast weather in general you don't want to miss this presentation!

A quick reminder to all flying videographers:

We love aviation photography and videos as much as you do, but maintenance would like to remind everyone who rents our aircraft that attaching/mounting GoPros or anything else to the outside of our aircraft is not allowed!

Not only is it a great way to lose your camera in rough weather, but doing so invalidates our Certificate of Airworthiness. Let's all agree to keep our hands, legs, and cameras INSIDE of the plane at all times.
