Please be advised that our office will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of Thanksgiving.

Our office will reopen on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., and regular business hours will resume.

As we take this time to reflect on the many things we are grateful for, we extend our appreciation to our dedicated staff, valued partners, and the communities we have the privilege of working alongside.

📚✏️ Registration is Now Open for Semester 2! ✏️📚

The Anishinabek Education System is pleased to announce that registration is now open for MFM2P – Grade 10 Applied Math through the KEB Virtual Secondary School for the 2026/2027 school year!

📅 Semester 2: February – June 2027
💻 Delivery: Virtual Learning
📍 Eligibility: Open to all students across Ontario!

This accredited course provides students with an opportunity to continue their mathematics education through the KEB Virtual Secondary School.

🍂 Fall Youth Gathering – Day 2 🍂

What a meaningful day together at our Fall Youth Gathering in Thunder Bay!

Youth began the day with time at Fort William First Nation for teachings with local Elder Tina Armstrong, followed by a visit to Anemki Wajiw (Mount McKay) for a tour and teachings from Mountain Keeper Gail Bannon. The afternoon brought everyone back together at the Valhalla Inn for interactive activities with Science North before wrapping up the gathering.

Throughout the day, youth had opportunities to learn, connect, experience new things, and spend time together in a welcoming and supportive space.

Miigwech to everyone who shared their knowledge, helped make the gathering possible, and especially to all of the youth who joined us! We hope you leave with new memories, connections, and teachings to carry forward. 🧡🍁

🌿 Day 2 of the Sharing for Success Education Conference 🌿

What a wonderful way to wrap up two days of learning, connection, and sharing together at Fort William Historical Park!

Today began with an Opening Drum, Prayer, and remarks before moving into a keynote presentation from Joseph Pitawanakwat on Medicine Gardens Designed for Schools, followed by an engaging hands-on learning session.

The afternoon brought participants outdoors and into a series of round-robin learning experiences, including Medicine Walks, an Archery Demonstration, and a breakout session with Will Morin. It was a great opportunity to learn through experience, spend time on the land, and connect with one another in a different setting.

We closed the conference together with a Closing Prayer, Travel Song, and draws.

Miigwech to all of our presenters, facilitators, educators, staff, and participants who helped make this year’s Sharing for Success Education Conference such a meaningful gathering. We are grateful for the knowledge shared, the conversations had, and the connections strengthened over the past two days.

Day 1 of our Sharing for Success Education Conference in Thunder Bay, ON is officially wrapped! ✨

Today brought educators, knowledge keepers, presenters, and partners together for a full day of learning, sharing, and connection. From conversations about relationships and reciprocity in math, executive functioning, STEM learning, food sovereignty, Lacrosse teachings, Birch Bark and Quill Work, and Star Teachings, there was so much knowledge shared throughout the day.

A huge miigwech to all of our presenters for sharing their time, knowledge, and experiences, and to everyone who joined us and helped make the first day such a meaningful one.
