As part of our Forest School learning, our Oaks and Saplings had the opportunity to explore real tools under close adult supervision. 🔨🪚

While dismantling an old treehouse, the children worked together to collect the wooden pieces, carefully remove nails, and use a saw to cut some of the wood into equal pieces. They listened to instructions, practiced safe tool handling, and took their time with each task.

These hands-on experiences help children build confidence, focus, coordination, problem-solving, patience, and responsibility, while also teaching them how to recognize and remove potential hazards from their environment.

Forest School gives children opportunities to learn practical skills through real experiences—always with clear safety guidance and close supervision. 🌿💚

Soccer has always been an absolute favourite with our Acorns! They have so much fun running, kicking, passing, and learning soccer skills. ⚽😊

Beyond the game itself, they’re also learning to follow rules, take turns, work as a team, listen to instructions, and encourage their friends. It’s wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practice and play together! 🌿✨

🌱💚 Kind Forest School at Gather & Grow!

We had such a wonderful time participating in the Gather & Grow event at One Kids Place! 🌿✨ Our team enjoyed sharing fun, hands-on activities with the children and creating opportunities for them to play, explore, and get creative.

It was lovely connecting with families in our community and bringing a little bit of the Kind Forest School spirit to the event! 😊🌲💚

🍎 Last week, we had a little cooking class in our classroom! One of our parents kindly shared fresh apples from her own trees, and we were excited to turn them into something delicious. The children helped make apple crumble from scratch, learning each step of the process along the way. They loved getting involved, and of course, the best part was enjoying what they made together! 🥧🍎✨

Dima from our Oaks group took his time carefully building a teepee-style fire structure 🪵 He showed great patience, focus, and attention as he arranged each stick and worked on his structure.

At Forest School, children can learn about different traditional fire structures, such as the teepee, lean-to, Swedish fire, and star fire. Each structure offers a different way to explore how wood can be arranged and how fire needs air, fuel, and careful preparation to work effectively.

These hands-on experiences encourage problem-solving, patience, observation, teamwork, and practical learning, while helping children develop respect for fire, follow safety rules, and understand their natural surroundings. 🌿🔥

Forest School is about learning by doing—giving children the time and space to explore real-world skills, take on challenges, and build confidence through meaningful experiences in nature. 💚

While playing in the forest, our two Saplings enjoyed the beautiful weather and created their own little musical moment. One started humming and singing, and before long, the other joined in. 🎶😊

It was such a natural and heartwarming moment to watch—children feeling comfortable enough to simply be themselves, express themselves, and enjoy each other’s company. 🌲✨
