My Philosophy
I believe children learn best through playing and interacting with others. Given the right tools, support and encouragement, children can thrive and succeed. We have many fun routine activities lined up througho

ut the day including outdoor activity time (weather permitting), nap time, snack time, play time, reading time, and craft time. We sing, dance and have fun. We have areas set aside for toys, arts/crafts, music, and reading. A movie on occasion (i.e. Christmas movie). We will work on skills such as sharing, kindness, and responsibilities such as hand-washing, playing nice, and clean-up. All skills needed for school, along with other skills. I provide age appropriate snacks/lunch that is followed by Canada’s Food Guide. 2% milk and water are served. About myself and our family home child care. I run a licensed daycare in my home, I have ensured that I follow up to date rules, policies, regulations and procedures, based on the Ontario Ministry of Education Licensing: Standards, legislation and inspections. I follow the Nipissing Parry Sounds Development Screening tests to ensure we are doing age- appropriate activities based on their development. Every child is different and develops on their own, so I believe it is essential to give them time to learn and play at their own speed. I believe play, routine, structure, and flexibility is essential for children’s learning and development. We are a breastfeeding friendly home, and try to be as environmentally conscious as possible. I strive to be the best mom to my children, and the best care-taker of other children. I have a 4 Year Honours Bachelor Degree, and a 1 year Bachelor of Education Degree from Nipissing University. I am an Ontario Certified Teacher and am First Aid Certified. I have taken many courses in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Special Education, and Business. I have classroom experience, and spent many years volunteering in a grade ½ classroom. I have many years experience with baby-sitting and working with children of all ages and abilities. I value family and respect parents’ wishes, thoughts, and suggestions. I always want to further educate myself, to better the lives of those around me. I have chosen to put my skills and experience to work while being able to stay home with my children. I believe social interaction with other children is key to success and development of children. I have an open door policy so feel free to stop in anytime, whether it is to visit or volunteer to help out with an activity or outing. Benefits to home daycares:
-Easier transition from home to daycare.
-Smaller group of children, therefore more one on one attention.
-Relaxed atmosphere, therefore less anxiety of parental separation. You are making the right decision by having your child(ren) in my home child care. It provides social interaction for your child(ren) outside the home, which can be a great learning opportunity in itself. Rest assured, that while you are at work, your child(ren) is/are happy learning, playing, and safe.

After over 6 years of running my daycare.... I am sad to say I have to close my doors. It has been an absolutely amazing experience. I have met amazing families and kids. My own children have created some great friendships and memories over the years.
I don’t ever like to say good bye.... so whether this closure is temporary or permanent.... I am beyond proud of all I’ve accomplished over the years.
My job has been truly wonderful and I am sad to leave it.
Our home is going up for sale, my husband and I are parting ways.
I will be selling off all my daycare items and I have some amazing families who are in need of childcare.
Thank you all for being so great to me and my family and allowing me to work from home and do what I love.
