If you haven't found a place to play this summer yet, now you have! The North Battleford City Kinsmen Band is launching their first-ever summer band. This group is aimed at adult musicians, returning players, and students with a solid foundation who want to keep playing and stay in shape during the summer. That said, everyone is welcome to join—just remember, rehearsals will mainly focus on playing music together, having fun, and less on formal instruction.

💰 Cost:
• Adults: $50
• Youth (under 18): $30
• Drop-in: $8 per rehearsal

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Year-End Concert—your presence made the evening extra special for our students.

We are incredibly proud of them for showcasing their hard work, growth, and love of music. A highlight was the performance of Indigenous-composed and dedicated pieces, reflecting our commitment to honouring the voices of our Indigenous students and families.

A special thank you to Knowledge Keeper and Indigenous musician Jason Chamakese for his guidance and permission to perform these meaningful pieces on Treaty 6 Territory—the traditional lands of the Cree, Métis, and other First Nations communities. We also extend our thanks to Mr. Gary Ball for helping create these wonderful senior grad gifts presented last night to our Grade 12 students.

We’re already looking forward to next school year. Thank you for being such an important part of our community!

It was wonderful to have a few of our North Battleford Comprehensive High School Jazz Band students attend the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra’s last concert of the season, Strayhorn: The Quiet Revolutionary, with the Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra.

For some of these students, this may be their very first time watching a professional jazz show or a professional show in general.

Thank you so much to the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra organization and the Sask Lotteries Community Grant Program for making this possible for our students.

And many thanks to the band parents/guardians for giving our students a ride to Saskatoon.
