Piano has been tuned today! How many students do you think will notice?
It's composing festival time and the MYC students have been hard at work creating their compositions. This week we will celebrate their hard work with mini recitals during class and the opportunity to watch all the students play their pieces. Here is an example of a Moonbeams 2 student

First party of the year for private students. Lots of music sharing and encouragement from peers. I love that they get excited to hear peices they have played and so many were inspired to learn new songs and accomplish new levels.
Part of our words of encouragement is to listen attentively and given meaningful feedback. Some of the fantastic comments today included:
“Great use of dynamics, playing quietly when the song if fast is really hard.”
“Tempo and speed stayed steady through the long piece.”
“I can tell you really enjoyed playing that one and now I want to play it too!”
“I’m starting to really like slow pieces, a lot more than I used to, and hearing you play this piece was really nice.”
So proud of each of these students for sharing their music and their insights. Ended off the party with treats and a Movie Concert.
Can’t wait for December to do this again!
We wrapped up our piano year with our annual recital and it was fantastic as always!
We had a special performance this year: Marvel vs DC piano battle
Myself and a student battled to see who is better - Marvel or DC? Who do you think won in the end? 😊
