The number and length of naps your child takes will depend on their age, temperament, and developmental stage. Every child is unique, so there is no one-size-fits-all approach to baby sleep.

Below is the average number of naps babies take by age and the ideal length of naps. It’s best to use this as a starting point and adjust it to fit your baby’s specific sleep needs.

Here are a few sample schedules to follow based on your baby’s needs:

- (With 2-3-4 awake time schedule)
- 6:30 am wakeup
- 8:30-10 am nap 1
- 1:00-2:30/2:45 nap 2
- 6:30 pm bedtime

- (With 2.45-3-3 awake time)
- 7 am wakeup
- 9:45-11:15 am nap 1
- 2:15-4:00 pm nap 2
- 7 pm bedtime

- (With 3-3-3.5 awake time)
- 7 am wakeup
- 10:00-11:30 am nap 1
- 2:30-4:00 pm nap 2
- 7:30 pm bedtime

If you have a baby who is over 3-5 months old and is easily distracted or avoids daytime feeds but wakes frequently at night to eat,

👉🏼It’s known as “reverse🔄cycle feeding.”

🌟It’s important to pay attention to your baby’s readiness to transition away from one or more overnight feeds🍼

💫While feeding may quickly soothe your baby back to sleep, frequent overnight feeds can affect their daytime appetite, leading them to not consume enough during the day and causing them to wake up at night to make up for the missed calories.

💫This cycle continues until parents introduce healthy changes in the sleep and feeding schedules. Every child is unique, and breaking this pattern can be challenging for parents.

👉🏼Therefore, When you start the process of weaning an overnight feed, it’s crucial to ensure that your baby receives sufficient and effective full feeds during the day to eventually sleep longer stretches at night.

If you want to gently ease your child into daylight savings you can start making adjustments to their sleep schedule earlier.

You may prefer to wait and see what happens for your little one and adjust timings after the clock change - the choice is completely yours

Keep this Survival Guide for future reference 📑.

Sleep regressions can be a very stressful phase for parents, but it's important to remember that they are actually "progressions". These regressions can happen due to specific ages or for random reasons, such as being afraid of the dark, needing a night light or testing their boundaries to take control of some unsustainable choices.

🌟Tip: if you think turning on the night light is helping a child to feel better and sleep well then do it however if the behaviour still stays the same then hold boundaries and stay firm to the limits.
